Dear subscribers,

There's a rampant rumor around town that UC Berkeley is planning to resume
clear-cutting trees and perhaps start construction in People's Park.
Traditionally moves like this are made when the students have gone home for
the holidays. This morning, Tuesday, a creditable crowd of would-be
protesters gathered in the park, but UC bigwigs like Carol Christ didn't
show up. Another rumor suggests that the data is Thursday, January 4.
Currently I'm have trouble with my posting program anyway, so all I have so
far is the two letters below. If this is one of your issues, you might want
to keep an eye out with any other news sources you have. The Daily Cal is
usually the best.

And a Happy New Year! I hope to get the glitch fix
