today told me he had difficulty knowing how to read the Planet—when to expect a
new issue, etc.<span style> </span>Well, so do I.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif"><br></span></p><span style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif">
</span><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif">The
legacy software we use just accumulates postings until I tell it to move
on.<span style> </span>Ordinarily, I start creating a new
issue toward the end of a week, and then press the “publish” button sometime on
Friday when I judge that most of what I’m expecting has arrived and been
posted.<span style> </span>That turns the “Next” issue into
the “Current” Issue and the “Current” issue into the “Previous” Issue.<span style> </span>The “Next” button vanishes until I start
working on the issue for the following week, when it reappears, after which you
can see the new work in progress as it’s posted by clicking on the “Next Issue”
button. <br></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif"><br></span></p><span style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif">
</span><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif">Is that
all perfectly clear?<span style> </span>No?<span style> </span>Well, you can always just type <a href="berkeleydailyplanet.com">berkeleydailyplanet.com</a> into your browser
and see the latest front page.<span style> </span>It will also display
anything that’s come in for the current issue after it’s officially published
on Friday—often the most exciting current developments.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif"><br></span></p><span style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif">
</span><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif">These subscriber letters list all the links for the current issue and the
immediately previous issue according to their headlines, <span style> </span>so that’s another way to make sure you don’t
miss anything.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif"><br></span></p><span style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif">
