The state hive figures in the second to last paragraph are low by a factor of 1,000. I'm guessing that the author did not notice that the column heading "Honey Producing Colonies" (done by National Agricultural Statistics) is expressed in thousands of hives. Regards, Colin Colin D. Stewart, PhD
