[Pollinator] Quotes and misquotes

Oh, the problems associated with "truth"! As you point out, almost  nothing 
seems to deprive the public of "pithy" quotations, such as the one  attributed 
to Einstein. Perhaps of interest would be the book review 
"Notable Quotables" by Louis Menand in the 19 February 2007 "New Yorker"  
(reviewing the "Yale Book of Quotations", Yale Press, Fred Shapiro, ed. and  "The 
Quote Verifier", St. Martin's Press, Ralph Keyes, ed.)
 
As regards the frequently repeated assertion re cell phones, I've been  
tempted to cite the "authority" that commented that "honey bees are  social animals 
and, of course, use cell phones." Is there a grant  request out there 
somewhere, looking for funds for MRI or CT scanning  to assess brain tumors in honey 
bees?
 
Unfortunately, science and scientific research seem occasionally to  get lost 
in the hurly-burly of publication.
