Subject: Honey Bee Health Improvement Project- 'Queen of the Sun:What are
the bees telling us?'

Dear Pollinator Partnership,

I would like to invite you to help get the word out for the new
award-winning grass-roots feature documentary "Queen of the Sun: What are
the bees telling us?" (WWW.QUEENOFTHESUN.COM <http://www.queenofthesun.com/>
) which is making it's national tour now until Spring 2011. It would be
wonderful if you could invite your members and partners to get the word out
on this informative film! We are actually going to be in your area on Oct
12th and 13th , for the Mill Valley Film Festival. We would be honored to
help in conjunction with the Honey Bee Health Improvement Project. Queen of
the Sun is a profound, alternative look at the global honeybee crisis from
Taggart Siegel, award-winning director of The Real Dirt on Farmer John.
Film.com calls Queen of the Sun, "As soulful as it is scientific, as
uplifting as it is alarming." After screenings, there will be Q&As with the
director Taggart Siegel, producer Jon Betz & local beekeepers, who are
traveling with the film, in-person.

The non-profit, Collective Eye's previous film, The Real Dirt on Farmer
John, winner of 31 film festival awards was well received around the world.
Queen of The Sun, like The Real Dirt on Farmer John, is a film that helps
find solutions to our agricultural system and solutions that will allow us
to create a healthier environment. The Real Dirt on Farmer John was
supported by a global-network of organizations striving to bring farming
back to local communities. Queen of The Sun is also supported completely by
the help of grass-roots organizations like your own.

Queen of The Sun is a deep, uplifting, hopeful film that highlights the
struggle of the honeybee. With Queen of The Sun, the bees are guides. They
model collaboration and community, which, in turn, is the standard for the
revitalization of a more sustainable world. We hope that you can let your
partners know about Queen of The Sun. With your help, we hope the issues
presented in Queen of the Sun will reach an audience who care about their
food, but may not be aware of bees importance in our ecosystem. Our goal is
to create a grassroots movement that will educate and inspire people to make
positive changes for the environment and their community.

Here are a few quick ways that Pollinator Partnership can be involved:

. Build & inspire community by helping spread news about "Queen of the
Sun: What are the bees telling us?" through newsletters, facebook, twitter,
and any other social media.

. Be apart of events for your communities by introducing "Queen of the Sun"
at a screening in your area, which will help rally audiences in helping bees
and other pollinators through support of local organizations.

We have had great success previously with including blurbs in newsletters,
social media, and email blasts, to inform your community about Queen of the
Sun being in your area.

Below are some blurbs that we have created for your area, which can be
shared and used for promotional use. Please let us know if you have any
questions, concerns or insights! (We could also send you different blurbs
for all of our different areas, this is just an example of what we are doing
in Vermont now.)

Warm Regards,

Carolyn Keane

-NOTABLE PRESS QUOTES-------------------------------

"Entertaining, gorgeous and relevant.A tour of the physical world and the
world of ideas...built with truly lovely cinematography and music, and
taking us, once again, on a journey through a wood of confusion toward rays
of hope... "Queen of the Sun," demonstrates anew [Siegel's] rare eye and
sensibility...The message here is vital and Siegel retains the gift of
making you dream of making a difference."

-Shawn Levy, The Oregonian

4 out of 4 "On this fascinating new documentary.Taggart Siegel circled the
globe to interview the world's most passionate beekeepers, and their
testimonials make this an irresistible romance about the essential role that
honeybees play in maintaining earth's fragile ecosystem.a cautionary tale
with a hopeful outlook."

-Jeff Shannon, The Seattle Times

"Queen of the Sun is stunning.as soulful as it is scientific, as uplifting
as it is alarming. Siegel sets himself and his film apart with exquisite
cinematography and awe-inducing visual artistry. B+."

-Christine Champ, Film.com

"A creative exploration of the global honeybee crisis replete with
remarkable nature cinematography, some eccentric characters and yet another
powerful argument for organic, sustainable agriculture in balance with
nature, Taggart Siegel's attractive call-to-action docu "Queen of the Sun"
reps a natural follow-up to his prize-winning "The Real Dirt on Farmer
John... "Queen" could generate some honey in niche theatrical before landing
on the smallscreen."

-Alissa Simon, Variety

"Queen of the Sun breathes love and hope into the catastrophic crisis
inundating our oldest domesticated animal, the honey bee. I was moved from
tears to hope as the film gently offered next steps anyone could take to
make the world a better place."

-Barbara Booth, Santa Fe Waldorf School

"Inspiring, humbling, thought provoking, entertaining, and beautifully shot,
this film does much more than introduce the current crisis faced by the
bees. Queen of the Sun is a call for cultural renewal, for a holistic and
compassionate understanding of these amazing creatures. "
