The security of individuals, communities and nations is profoundly affected by changing environmental conditions. Climate disruption, access to affordable and clean water, food and energy, are among the factors that can impact both the health and stability of individuals and their communities. Small environmental changes can trigger economic, political, and social upheavals and drive population movements. Nations are beginning to integrate such environmental factors into decisions regarding defense, diplomacy, and development.
