Wagner Free Institute of Science

10 AM to 12 PM   "Pollinator Power" A lesson for kids 6-12, about the value of pollinators, like honey bees.  Activities include a scavenger hunt, beeswax candle making, honey extraction and tasting, plus a peek inside a working beehive. 
 
3 PM to 5PM   "So, You Think You Want to be a Beekeeper?" Members of the Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild will describe the basics, so you can decide.  Open-hive demo to follow.

 5 PM to 6 PM   Honey Happy HourSample honey from local beekeepers, honey-based beers
"Bitto Honey", donated by 
Prism Brewing Company 
and “Nectar” donated by
Earth Bread + Brewery

      Traditional Honey Mead & Blueberry Melomel donated by
Stonekeep Meadery
 $5 suggested donation.
