Earlier this month we were very excited to add Cerulean Warbler to our life list of birds seen. "This Week at Hilton Pond" we were about as enthused to find a new local species of native wildflower--something we have few of on the property. It was Hyssop Skullcap, an eye-pleasing blossom with an interesting name. To view our photo essay about this plant, please visit our latest on-line installment for 22-31 May 2012 at http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek120522.html The flower has no odor, so we wonder about its actual pollinator.

While there don't forget to scroll down for a list of all birds banded or recaptured during the period, as well as some miscellaneous nature notes--including one about the unusual way some birds feed their nestlings.

Happy Nature Watching!

BILL
