Meeting Now On-Line
To: Pollinator Conservation <PollinatorConservationCanada at gmail.com>
I am pleased to announce that the final report from the Canadian Pollinator
Conservation 2013: Next Steps meeting has been completed and can be found
attached to this e-mail. It, along with selected presentations from the
meeting, can also be found on-line at http://wildlifepreservation.ca/3284-2/.

The report encompasses information provided by individuals during
registration, meeting breaks, and the follow-up survey. It touches on the
varied areas of interest by respondents, problems and roadblocks facing
individuals, resources that are available to assist others, examples of
on-going projects, requests for assistance, and ideas for next steps in
pollinator conservation work in Canada. It also includes two appendices:
one featuring a contact list of all meeting registrants and the other
reviewing the purposes and outcomes of past Canadian pollination meetings.

One of the next steps that was identified is the creation of e-groups to
help maintain connections and facilitate communication and
"cross-pollination". Pollinator Partnership Canada will be the host of
these groups, which will be set-up in July at the same time as an updated
web-site. More information will follow at that time.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the meeting and discussions. For
many, the April 10 meeting was an eye-opener, as there is an incredible
amount of work already going on across the Country. Now it is time to
continue to build on those efforts so that our pollinators will survive
well into the future.

Keep up the good work!

Victoria MacPhail, on behalf of the Organizing Committee
Pollinators at Risk Initiative Coordinator, Wildlife Preservation Canada

PS. Do you know of any one who is an advocate for pollinators in their
communities? Someone who has created pollinator habitat on their farm or
ranch? *The deadline for nominations for the 2013 Pollinator Advocate
Award and the 2013 Canadian Farmer-Rancher Pollinator Conservation Award is
Thursday, July 18, 2013.* Visit

unrecognized, please give this some thought and send in your nominations
soon!
