HORTICULTURALIST/BOTANIST/FARMER 

 

 

Position:                Managing Horticulturalist

 

Location:               Heidrun Meadery, Point Reyes Station, CA

 

Starting Salary:     $30,000 – $60,000/yr. salary + performance incentives 

 

Minimum Reqs:     B.S. in related field and 2 years practical experience

Description

 

We are interviewing for a full-time horticulturalist to assist in the
design, implementation and management of a 16 acre, publicly accessible, bee
forage farmscape. Applicants must have completed formal education in
agricultural and/or botanical sciences and have significant practical and
applicable farming and/or large-scale landscaping experience, including the
operation and maintenance of farm machinery. Duties include native plant
ecology restoration, orchard management, small-scale crop cultivation,
nursery and greenhouse management, irrigation management and large-scale
composting. Facility with informal public speaking and media interaction are
desirable. Candidates must be mature, responsible, self-motivated,
exceptionally committed and capable professional individuals with a solid
science-based approach to their discipline.
