[Pollinator] Fwd: What species is this beetle?

Dear Colleagues:

Attached you will find a photo of two beetles consuming a camellia flower
(Yunnan Province, 10/2007).  They look like the big, flower-eating
scarabaeids one sees on Myrtaceae flowers in Australia.  Does anyone want
to attach a genus name to these insects?  Dr Ren's request for an
identification to species seems unlikely, at this point
