It is always a pleasure to announce the annual John Dwyer Public Lecture in
Biology organized by the Department of Biology (Saint Louis University) and
the Missouri Botanical Garden.  Please join us at 4 PM, Wednesday, April 22
(Earth Day) at the auditorium of the Missouri Botanical Garden.  The
recipient of the Dwyer Lectureship for 2015 is Dr David Roubik of the
Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (Panama).  Dr Roubik is an
international authority on the unusually colorful bees (Euglossini) and
scented orchids of the New World Tropics.  The title of his lecture is "Islands
of Knowledge:  Tropical Orchids and Bees; a win-win for Darwinians."

The lecture is from 4 - 5 PM but Dr. Roubik has agreed to a book autograph
session from 5 - 6 PM.  Several of his publications are considered classics
of natural history and Entomology.  This will also include a co-signing of
the recently published (Darwin's Orchids; Then and Now,", 2014, University
of Chicago Press) with editors Retha Edens-Meier and Peter Bernhardt.
