 Dear Colleague,

I am writing to you now to see if you, or someone you know, might be
interested in participating in a Symposium on Pollination Down Under during
an Annual Conference of the Australian Ecological Society.

I am sure you would agree that pollination is an essential and major
ecosystem function for the Australian region and elsewhere. However, the
current level of down-under research in this area seems relatively low
compared with previously and with the rest of the world, and there is no
longer an active collective of Australasian pollination ecologists. A
symposium could reveal the extent of current pollination research in this
area, how important it is, and where it might be headed.

Potential topics include:

· Pollination as an ecosystem function

· Pollinator declines

· Effects of introduced honeybees and bumblebees

· Effects of climate change

· Plant-pollinator co-evolution

· Pollination mechanisms

Such a symposium has been approved for the 2015 ESA Annual Conference, but
I have realised that I really left it too late to get going with rounding
up potential participants.

I am therefore now seeking interest in the 2016 ESA Annual Conference.

So please let me know if you, or someone you know, possibly a student or
colleague, might be interested in participating in such a symposium.

Please also look at the distribution list for this email and get back to me
if you notice that I have omitted anyone.

Regards,

Graham
