[Pollinator] Fwd: Why China’s Asian honeybees are losing out to their Western counterparts | South China Morning Post

Anyone interested in commenting on this article from a popular, Chinese,
newspaper? I've now eaten the honey of both Apis mellifera and A. cerana
and far prefer the flavor in a cerana honey so am dubious about comparative
"sweetness." The "information" on cerana workers and queens is interesting
provided it's true. In fact, the traditional culture of A. cerana has been
largely replaced by A. mellifera in most areas of China with parts of
Yunnan still holding out for cerana.

Also, just had a very unpleasant experience after finishing some garden
work and turning on PBS. The writers of a children's series called "Nature
Cat" are telling children that pollination occurs when a bee "mixes" pollen
of flowers from two different trees. The word, pistil, is never used.
Uhh, do you think NAPPC representatives should chat with the producers of
PBS shows for kids or should we not bother as pubic broadcasting is doomed
by the current administration?
