Join us in celebrating World Bee Day to explore ways in which we can spread
awareness of the key role of bees and other pollinators in ensuring vibrant
and sustainable ecosystems.

Without bees, it would be impossible to achieve a world without hunger.
Bees and other pollinators sustain one-third of all food produced globally.
FAO estimates that 71% of all crop species grown for human consumption
depend on pollinators. Deliberate actions to protect bees and other
pollinator habitats can promote biodiversity and more resilient ecosystems.

Despite their critical role, bees face significant threats from changes in
land-use change, misuse of pesticides, monoculture agriculture, and climate
change, which can disrupt flowering seasons and overall bee health. Healthy
bees are a sign of well-functioning ecosystems, and the decline of
pollinators is a sign of the disruptions that global changes are
increasingly causing to our planet.
