Pollinator Partnership in conjunction with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife's
Partners for Fish and Wildlife program will be holding a workshop in
Michigan to teach volunteers interested in contributing to Project Wingspan
how to ID and collect seed from our target list of monarch and rusty
patched bumble bee forage and host plants.







This workshop is designed to train for all levels of participation (Team
Lead, Data Collector, and Seed Collection Volunteer) and participants will
also learn proper data collection techniques and how to conduct a seed
collection event. Please see below for details and make sure to fill out
the form to let us know if you will be attending.

*THERE IS LIMITED SPACE AT THE VENUE. THE REGISTRATION WILL BE FIRST COME,
FIRST SERVED. PLEASE REGISTER TODAY TO ENSURE YOU HAVE A SPOT.*

   - Registration will be cut off when the venue is filled or by June 8th.
   - Please arrive at the training room about 15 minutes before the start
   time to give yourself an opportunity to sign in and get a seat.

*Additional training site information:*

   - There is limited parking in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service parking
   lot, but additional parking can be found across the road at the USDA
   parking lot or along the street (Abbey Road).
   - Additional details for building access will be provided to those that
   register.

*At our training you will learn how to:*

   - ID the 29 native wildflowers we're targeting for this project
   - Responsibly collect seed from the landscape
   - Perform a seed cut test
   - Collect field data
   - Properly follow our seed collection protocol
   - Use our GIS data collection application on your smart phone (for
   designated data collectors)
   - Weather permitting, how to do all of this in an outdoor setting

*What to bring:*

   - A notebook and writing utensil
   - Water bottle
   - Field clothes (we may go outside)
   - Bug spray
   - A snack or brown bag lunch

If you plan to be a Team Lead or Data Collector for the project, we
recommend that you download the free Survey123 for Arc GIS app from your
mobile device's app store before arriving.

*Upon completion of this training, all registered attendees will be awarded
a digital personalized certificate of completion.*
