[Pollinator] Project Wingspan Invites Your Participation

Pollinator Partnership (https://pollinator.org/) has joined forces with
several organizations and agencies to launch a new initiative ~ *Project*
*Wingspan* and we are seeking volunteers to collect native seed throughout
the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.
All of the seed collected across the six states will be geospatially
tracked and returned back to its region of origin to enhance and restore
habitat for monarchs, rusty-patched bumble bees, and other rare pollinators
on public and private lands. We are also conducting a habitat survey to
identify public and private lands committed to long-term habitat management
and to be eligible for plant material awards procured through the program.

In-person workshops, as well as online training, will be offered to teach
volunteers interested in contributing to Project Wingspan how to ID and
collect seed from their target list of native plants that support monarchs,
rusty patched bumble bees, and other native pollinators. Participants will
also learn proper data collection techniques using a GIS app for mobile
devices.


This is an opportunity to work on a multi-state regional landscape effort
with volunteers throughout the Midwest and Great Lakes region -- to make a
valuable contribution to supporting migrating monarchs and other imperiled
pollinators.
