Hi colleagues,
I was wondering what the best methods for measuring the depth of a
ground-burrowing bee nest is? (ideally without digging it up...) I've found
some nests in a residential backyard in between paving stones and would
like to measure their depth, but am unable to dig the paving up :s I was
thinking of maybe sticking a wire down but it's hard to know when it hits
the bottom since the soil is sandy and I might just keep on pushing it
through soil without knowing when I hit the bottom...
Thanks!
