Good afternoon,

We are reaching out to conservation organizations and interested
stakeholders asking for help to raise awareness on the expansion and
renewal of USDA-Farm Service Agency’s Conservation Reserve Program
(CRP). *USDA’s
goal is to enroll up to 4 million new acres in CRP.* I have attached our
stakeholder toolkit (sample articles/tweets/images) on the CRP to assist
you in sharing the information with your members.

USDA is updating the CRP to have higher payment rates, new incentives, and
a more targeted focus on the program’s role in climate change mitigation.
CRP is one of the world’s largest voluntary conservation programs with a
long track record of preserving topsoil, sequestering carbon, and reducing
nitrogen runoff, as well providing healthy habitat for wildlife.

We would appreciate you sharing this announcement

with
your membership and any producers or landowners with an interest in
conservation. Please let me know if you have any questions about the
program or these outreach efforts.

Thanks - Peter
