At long last the state is hiring the State Botanist Staff Manager position,
an Assistant State Botanist and a Field Botanist and Invasive Species
Specialist. The positions can be based out of either Santa Fe or
Albuquerque. We need your help to get the word out!

The *State Botanist Staff Manager* is a permanent position in pay band 75
on the general salary schedule. The State Botanist will supervise two
positions:

   1. *Assistant State Botanist*, Program Coordinator 1 in state pay band
70 on the general salary schedule. This is a term position with federal
funding from the USFWS that has been renewed every year for 10 years.
   2. *Field Botanist and Invasive Species Specialist*, Forester Advanced
in state pay band 65 on the general salary schedule. This is a position
with federal funding for at least 4 years and possibly 9 years.

We are having two Rapid Hire Events where interested candidates can apply
and be hired within a few weeks. An official flyer will be out soon, but I
wanted to get the basic details to you now and request as much help as you
can provide to circulate this information.

   - Monday November 14 there will be three concurrent in-person events in
Santa Fe, Albuquerque and Las Vegas from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. Applicants should
   bring their resume and transcripts.
   - Thursday November 17 there will be a virtual event from 3:00 – 6:00 PM
and applicants should have a digital PDF of their resume and transcripts
ready. Advance registration will be required – check the Forestry Division
website and the NM Department of Workforce Solutions website for details
   next week.

If you have a list serve, please send this out! If you have recruitment
ideas for us, please pass them along.
