(WHC) for the 2007 Corporate Lands for Learning (CLL) Education and Outreach
Workshop on October 10-11, 2007, at the BP Decatur Plant in <?xml:namespace
prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Alabama</st1:place></st1:State>. Located on the
500 plus acres of this award-winning wildlife habitat is the <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Wetlands</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Edge</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Environmental</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Learning</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">Center</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>. The facility is a cooperative
effort with local school systems to enhance environmental learning in the
<st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Decatur</st1:City></st1:place> area.
<FONT color=black><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Programs are based on Alabama
Education Standards and include components on plant growth and development,
coastal ecology, animal studies and the study of butterflies and other

experiential, place-based learning opportunities by using local corporate
habitats as a tool for teaching to explore ecological concepts and the human
role in conservation. CLL opens doors to experience innovative teaching and
learning techniques and the opportunity to involve communities in conservation
efforts. <A

in this workshop will be trained in the Council for Environmental Education’s
Project WILD and Project WILD Aquatic and will receive curriculum books to use
as a part of their educational programs or in their classrooms. WHC encourages
anyone who is involved in an environmental educational program to attend.
Learning opportunities will cater to beginners through experts, and help sites
expand their wildlife habitat programs by establishing a CLL program while
meeting educational needs within surrounding
