PTSIZE="10">Please note that the Smithsonian has hired another specialist on
ant<BR>molecular systematics (in addition to Ted Schultz) as their new Curator
of<BR>Bees.<BR><BR>><BR>><BR>> Dear Colleagues,<BR>><BR>> I am
pleased to announce that Dr. Seán G. Brady has been appointed as<BR>> Curator
of Bees, in the Hymenoptera Unit effective August 18th. Of course,<BR>> many
of you already know Seán, as he has been a Research Entomologist<BR>> Trust
employee on his NSF Ant grant for sometime now, working mostly at<BR>>
L.A.B.<BR>><BR>> Seán received his Ph.D. in Population Biology, at the
University of<BR>> California, Davis in 2002. In 2002–2003 he was a
Postdoctoral Researcher<BR>> in the Department of Entomology, Cornell
University working with the bee<BR>> specialist there, Dr. Bryan Danforth.
After that, in 2003–2004, he became<BR>> a Smithsonian Postdoctoral
Researcher in our Department of Entomology,<BR>> working with Dr. Ted Schultz
on ant research. Sean brings with him an<BR>> impressive background in
publications and grants.<BR>><BR>> Please join me in welcoming Seán to our
staff, our first “new blood” in<BR>> more than a decade!<BR>><BR>>
