IRGC has chosen to address the governance of the risks associated with
the loss of pollination services because, in comparison with other
<br><br>
threatened ecosystem services such as fresh water supply, fisheries and
climate regulation, IRGC believes that insufficient attention is being
<br><br>
given to the risks associated with the loss of pollination.<br><br>
<br><br>
As we state in the document’s preface, this concept note is not intended
to be a complete and in-depth description of the risk of the loss of
<br><br>
pollination services. Rather, the document provides a brief, summary
description of pollination and pollination services, identifies a number
<br><br>
of risks both to pollination services and that would result from their
loss, summarises a selection of pertinent regulatory and governance
structures, <br><br>
and provides a preliminary identification of risk governance deficits
related to the loss of pollination services. The concept note concludes
with <br><br>
some initial recommendations for how to address the governance
deficits.<br><br>
