Abstract <br>

Although North American bumble bees are common and easily recognizable

insects in many habitats, details of their natural history are poorly

known. This study presents basic ecological information based on a

literature review, databased insect collections and recent survey work

performed throughout southern Ontario. As a result of this review,

phenology, food plants, distribution and habitat associations are

summarized for each species of this important group of pollinators.<br>
