Society for Invertebrate Conservation in now hiring a <b>Butterfly Conservation
Specialist</b> to join our growing conservation team and help us continue to
successfully implement our mission. The Butterfly Conservation Specialist will
work under the direction of the Executive Director to:</span></p>
<ul><li><span style="font-family: Symbol;"><span style=""><span style="font: 7pt "Times New Roman";"></span></span></span><span style="font-family: "Cambria","serif";">Manage
our effort to conserve monarch butterflies and their habitat.</span><span style="font-family: Symbol;"><span style=""></span></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Symbol;"><span style=""><span style="font: 7pt "Times New Roman";"></span></span></span><span style="font-family: "Cambria","serif";">Assist
in management of the IUCN Butterfly Specialist Group.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: Symbol;"><span style=""><span style="font: 7pt "Times New Roman";"></span></span></span><span style="font-family: "Cambria","serif";">Plan
surveys for at-risk butterflies.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: Symbol;"><span style=""><span style="font: 7pt "Times New Roman";"></span></span></span><span style="font-family: "Cambria","serif";">Assist
in the development of management plans for at-risk butterflies</span></li><li><span style="font-family: Symbol;"><span style=""><span style="font: 7pt "Times New Roman";"></span></span></span><span style="font-family: "Cambria","serif";">Perform
limited applied research on select butterfly species.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: Symbol;"><span style=""><span style="font: 7pt "Times New Roman";"></span></span></span><span style="font-family: "Cambria","serif";">Develop
status reviews and ESA listing petitions for critically imperiled butterfly
species.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: Symbol;"><span style=""><span style="font: 7pt "Times New Roman";"></span></span></span><span style="font-family: "Cambria","serif";">Develop
and run a butterfly management short course that provides land managers with
guidance on how to best manage habitat for butterflies.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: Symbol;"><span style=""><span style="font: 7pt "Times New Roman";"></span></span></span><span style="font-family: "Cambria","serif";">Update
and maintain the Xerces Red List of butterflies and moths</span>.</li></ul>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 0.25in;"><span style="font-family: "Cambria","serif";">This position
will ideally be located in Portland, Oregon, but we will consider locations in
California. This is a full time position with a salary range of $34,000 -
$40,000 depending on experience, and a generous benefits package. A detailed job
