for oral/poster presentations are due on May 15th for the International
Conference on Pollinator Biology, Health, and Policy. The conference
will be held at Penn State from August 14-17, 2013. More info on the
conference, including a schedule of sessions, invited speakers and
online registration, can
be found at:<br></div>
<a href="http://agsci.psu.edu/pollinator-conference" target="_blank">http://agsci.psu.edu/pollinator-conference</a><br><br></div>We
have a tremendous group of internationally renowned speakers, covering
topics from neurobiology, behavior, physiology, health,
ecosystems services and ecology, in multiple species of pollinators.
There will be a session on "Evolving Policies Related to Pesticides and
Pollinator Conservation", which will feature presentations from
policymakers, nonprofit, industry and stakeholder groups from Europe,
Canada and the US. And finally, Haagan Dazs has donated ice
cream for the coffee breaks/lunches, so everyone will have enough energy
to absorb all this great information, network, and develop new
collaborations. We are also grateful for the generous support of
Wyman's, Bayer, Syngenta, Ernst Conservation Seeds, BASF, and the Penn
State Center for Pollinator Research, Huck Institutes of the Life
Sciences, College of Agricultural Sciences, and Department of
Entomology.<br><br></div><div>Additionally, there will be a Xerces Pollinator Conservation Short
Course at Penn State on August 14, the Society for Invertebrate
Pathology Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA on August 11-15, and the
Eastern Apicultural Society Annual Meeting in West Chester, PA on August
5-9.</div><div>
