This 2<sup>nd</sup> Workshop expands the topic from Hive Monitoring to also include the Monitoring and Tracking of Bees themselves. Although the primary emphasis of the Workshop is on honey bees and other pollinators, the meeting is open to anyone monitoring or tracking insects.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%'>Since that First Workshop on Hive Monitoring, enabling technologies have been constantly improving, and the prices have been declining. Whereas most of the research and applications at the time of the First Workshop was being performed in Europe and the USA, we now find individuals and groups around the world exploring this topic, with several startup firms exploring markets.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%'>The 2<sup>nd</sup> International Workshop, starting on Wednesday, September 17, will be held in conjunction with the 36<sup>th</sup> Annual Meeting of the Western Apicultural Society (WAS), September 18-21). <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%'>I am the 2014 President of WAS. We will also have a Trade Show associated with WAS, September 17-21; workshops on Saturday morning (20<sup>th</sup>); and a Honey Harvest Festival in the afternoon (20<sup>th</sup>).
