Spokane bans chemical that may kill bees.</a></b> Spokane is among cities

that have restricted the use of pesticides that are chemically similar to

nicotine because they may be killing bees. Eugene, Ore., last year became

the first city in the nation to ban use of neonicotinoids. It is not

clear how many other cities besides Spokane have followed.
