--></style></head><body lang="EN-US" link="blue" vlink="purple"><div class="WordSection1"><p class="MsoNormal">The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has just released a new report:</p><p class="MsoNormal">Literature Review: Pollinator Habitat Enhancement and Best Management Practices in Highway Rights-of-Way</p><p class="MsoNormal"> </p><p class="MsoNormal">The report was prepared for the FHWA by the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, in collaboration with ICF International. The authors are Jennifer Hopwood, Scott Hoffman Black, Eric Lee-Mader, and Alexandra Charlap of the Xerces Society, and Robert Preston, Kailash Mozumder, and Scott Fleury of ICF International.</p><p class="MsoNormal"> </p><p class="MsoNormal">This literature review is the first product of a contract to develop Roadside Best Management Practices. These roadside BMP’s are in development and should be released later this year.</p><p class="MsoNormal"> </p><p class="MsoNormal">The literature review includes sections on the importance and decline in pollinators, the threats to pollinators associated with roads and restoration and vegetation management for pollinators.
