Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and included this important provision in the Chairman’s mark of the DRIVE Act (transportation bill) that was reported out of the Committee this morning. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The Gillibrand amendment is nearly identical to H.R. 2738, legislation recently introduced in the House by Congressional Pollinator Protection Caucus (CP2C) co-chairs Jeff Denham (R-CA) and Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL).<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'>P2 collaborated with the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) in building last minute support for the Gillibrand amendment, and we are pleased that a number of organizations were able to join P2 and ASLA in signing group letters circulated on extremely short notice<span style='font-size:10.0pt'>. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>P2 applauds Sen. Gillibrand’s leadership, and commends the members of the Environment and Public Works Committee for adopting the amendment on a bipartisan basis.
