Although the focus for many people is bees, there are many other insects that pollinate and the work of pollination is never over—even after dark! When our day-active pollinators turn in for the evening, nocturnal pollinators such as moths, bats, beetles, and even some species of bees take on the night shift to feast on nectar. The yucca moth is one example of a nighttime pollinator, one that has a close relationship with its namesake plant, yucca.
