Hello,

I am co-chairing our County Forest Preserve District’s Pollinator Conservation Policy Work Group. I am looking for examples of such policies in conservation districts or other public lands managed for conservation. (I have found examples
of policies passed by municipalities, but those tend to focus on things we are already doing.)

While it may seem unnecessary for land/conservation districts to write a policy – after all, they are conservation districts! – our goal is to (1) align all aspects of District operations with conservation of native pollinators and insects
and (2) model what native pollinator conservation looks like for the public, neighbors, municipalities, and other partners. Using the lens of native insect conservation has led to some fruitful debates and conversations in our organization.
