<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 13px;">Sorry for the lapse in communication and thank you for your inquiries of concern regarding the Kincade fire near us last week. <br>Things are unburnt here but not necessarily unharmed. <div>Mandatory evacuations had us leaving unexpectedly among power outages on Oct. 26. We were not permitted to return home until late on the 30th. I did not have computer access this whole time. We didn't get power back until the night of the 31st which coincided with me coming down with a high fever that has had me bedridden for days. Yesterday the rest of the family came down with this formidable flu. Today is the 1st time I've been coherent enough to put the computer back together and let everyone know the situation. I apologize for the delay in orders and correspondence. It has been a very trialing period to say the least but things could have been much worse.<br>At the end of September we started getting mild frost--a complete shock and nearly a month earlier than ever before. This forced us to put our other plans on hold (web updates, RPL mailing, auction, etc.) Most of October had us in an unexpected scramble trying to get some of the last greenhouse renovations completed so we could move the most sensitive plants back inside. This was about 90% complete when we were evacuated....and of course while we were gone the frosts got colder damaging those remaining plants. 70+ mph winds blew plants over and the extremely dry warm weather scorched many plants while we were evacuated. I was only able to begin assessing the damage when the fever leveled me...<div>I am still quite weak and am doing what I can to care for the rest of the family. The first order of business once I'm well enough is to salvage what I can from the damaged plants and get orders shipped. I beg your patience while I recuperate. I'm sorry that some of you have been upset with my lack of response. This has all been beyond my control. Expect correspondence to be slow fro a bit. Over a week without being online has me overwhelmed with the number of emails.</div><div>I will send another update as soon as I can. </div><div>thank you for your understanding and support.</div><div><br></div><div>Ben</div><div><br>Sacred Succulents<br>
