Our collection from the mixed Trichocereus terscheckii dry forest near La Vina, Salta, Argentina, 4500'. Looks like a little like a wild form of I. tricolor but those more familiar with the genus say it is distinct. Small creeping succulent with cylindrical stems covered in densely arranged tiny leaves and white hairs. Forms caudex-like roots with age. Relatively large flowers of brilliant magenta. Seed from the wondrous granitic peaks of Sierra Grande, Cordoba, Argentina. Dies back to the roots during cold or drought. A very cute plant for collectors of the unusual. Surface sow seed.
