[HECnet] HECnet cisco not updating?

Hello!
I can see why. My (late) father was also a late attraction to the
Internet. He got online call it late in the period, whereas my brother
and I, had been making use of everything online even before the
Internet was officially available. In fact I had heard about, and
downloaded a copy of E11 from a now defunct service, who obtained a
gateway for itself fairly late. As to how the copy of E11 landed
there, I didn't know then, and I'm nowhere closer.

Incidentally dad would use the Internet to badger us via e-mail, and
to send me copies of Powerpoint animations that a fellow historical
plane fan would put together.

In fact he was quite pleased with what I had accomplished with
everything. My brother less so, and my (older) sister more so, my
(younger) sister not at all.

Peter I'm impressed.

Incidentally in this country the copper wire that holds the phone
connections together is seriously disintegrating and the phone
companies are doing even less then that to maintain them. They're
slowly moving towards fiber-optic stuff, and the cable TV ones don't
like that either.

In this country to have a static IP address over copper requires
practically new wiring from the Central Office to the Customer. And it
depends on the vendor.

That came up about two to three years ago here, perhaps as late as last year.

Why not just get a static IP? Kiddies are pirating so much that for the
same $ I sacrificed 100gb but got unmetered uploads and ANNEX M. That still
leaves me with 100GB. How much do you need?

I don't think $ is Peters main concern. Nor speed. This from 6 years ago...

Are the scripts not running?

Scripts?

Brian's scripts that push out new configs upon IP change.

I don't have brians scripts, and I'm using a config tool based on
netconf/yang to configure my routers. A Yang model for HECNet, anyone?

Meanwhile, if anyone need me to change a tunel on a box I hapens to
operate, send me a email with the needed info.

(Why do addresses change? T10 nor T20 speak DHCP or ND?)
