Any safe way to have it stop moaning about the missing disk? Been reading the doco on sysgen, just a bit scared of borking the system before I recover the licence keys :)

and then aborts. When I show dev on console it shows a device EZA0: which a M=
AC address.

I've spent hours on this and are feeling discouraged!

I saw your follow-on.   Ignore this.   The EZ interface should be listed in 
there by default.   BTW, using LIST COMMUNICATION_CONTROLLER will show all
of the default configurable controller types.
