I've been poking Rich Alderson on and off about this for many years.
Sometimes he responds positively, sometimes I get nothing out of him.
In the end I have no idea if/when they would hook up.
Effort wise, it could be done rather quickly, but it's all down to LCM.

I have my RSX systems completely open to the internet. I don't mind all
the poking. It's interesting, not to mention an excellent stress test to
my TCP/IP implementation. And the script kiddies usually are just
totally confused once they are connected.

I can't even start counting the number of probes and attacks I am seeing
every day. Not only telnet, but ftp, and most of all http.

Adding Rich to this mail, so he knows that the topic came up again. I've
offered to help them get an RSX system up and running properly as well,
since they have several real 11/70 machines around. But it seems like
the PDP-11s at LCM are mostly just sort-of working. ;-)

For the time being Magica.Update.UU.SE (MAGICA::) is, as far as I know,
the only real 11/70 on the internet with full internet access, exposed
to all the crazy people and scripts, and on 24/7. Yes, Magica is back,
since we managed to get our cooling system fixed. Wohoo. :-)
