Shakespeare’s Flowers

 
Now in February Alstroemeria repossesses spring.

One day the scholars will not pour these words.

The command of nature was never mine.

But that is not to say these flowers, here,

now, alive in their glass, whose waters

their green leaves sully, are not as these poems,

cut, stripped, placed in this glass of verse and

do not speak with what my whole life knows.
