Each a mentor
a sherpa
a pathway
a wilderness 

Old friends now
elders in gradual 
departure into
deeper layers
undiscovered edges
shifting shorelines
a kind of breathing
a sort of threading

in and out
in and out
weaving each other
into living fabric
