GENERATION "P" - The Next Generation of Poets

Dear friends and poetry lovers,

Children are natural poets. They see the world in novel ways, often in fanciful and unselfconscious ways — “Daddy those lights are like tadpoles.” 

But, somehow, along the way, this natural capacity is too often discouraged: “Get serious, get real, grow up.” 

We learn to appreciate music by listening to music. We learn to appreciate film by viewing films. Likewise, we learn to appreciate poetry by experiencing poetry. 

Rumi’s Caravan wants youth in our communities to experience poetry … and here are three ways you can participate:

·         Invite someone under the age of 25 to join you at a Rumi’s Caravan event

·         Buy a “Pay-it-Forward” ticket

·         Contribute $10 or more to the Youth Ticket Pool

Pay-it-Forward and Youth Pool tickets are distributed to selected schools and youth groups to help develop the next generation of poets and poetry lovers.
