Rain & Rachamim

I love the rain.

Makes me think of rachamim, of the Divine well spring of compassion.

Nothing better than falling asleep to the rain

the quiet rumble on the roof

like a cat purring on your lap

the gurgle of the gutters - the sound of all things wet and soggy outside

while we are warm under the covers

inside.

How lucky we are to have a roof over our heads

so that we can enjoy the rain and

so many other things –

Thank you God for the rain and our roofs

our shelter

from the storm.

Let your rachamim fall on all your creatures,

spread over us a shelter of rachamim

of compassion and

Shalom.
