Fire
 
Natural as a stream, a breeze
Hot and insistent in
Summer. Like puma, creosote
Or coyote, fire has its own life. 
 
Our species invades homes
Of bobcat, deer and rabbit. 
We invade the home of
Fire, who like us,
Takes all—our worthy adversary.
