Poem Liturgy
There is an energy
That insists its way into words.
Mary Oliver knew about it
And so hid pencils in trees
Where she walked daily in the woods.
The mystery of that energy
might come, she knew
with its inescapable calling card,
and in the breeze of morning
send her to her knees
There close enough to earth and
under the daily office of sky
she could find what she needed to worship.
