Invitation to participate in Favorite Poem Community Reading Sunday, April 5

Dear Friends of Poetry,
 
Please join us for the 17th annual Favorite Poem Community Reading at the 
Sebastopol Center for the Arts on Sunday, April 5, at 2:00 p.m. Modeled on 
the readings initiated by former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky and hosted 
locally by Jodi Hottel and Larry Robinson, this will be a chance to soak in the
healing waters of poetry, and add your favorite poem to the mix. Jodi has 
passed the microphone to me and I look forward to continuing the celebration
that she and Larry hosted for 16 years.
 
Please send a copy of your single favorite poem, famous or otherwise, that is 
not written by you, a friend or relative, but that you have read, or learned by 
heart, and to which you feel a personal connection, along with a brief statement
about the poem’s significance in your life. The poem and introduction 
should take no more than 3 minutes for you to read or recite. 
 
Please send the poem and statement to me at gwynn at gwynnogara.com <mailto:gwynn at gwynnogara.com> with “Favorite Poem Reading” in the subject heading. Please include your name, phone # and email address, and submit your selection in either Word or a web link. Be sure to include the name of the author of the poem. There is no entry fee, and entries should be received by March 11. 
 
The event is free, and refreshments will be served. Whether you submit a poem 
to share or not, please join us for what is sure to be a wonderful community 
celebration of language <> and poetry.
