Where the Heart Is

Your heart and my heart pulse with the universe (uni - as in one, verse - as in poetry - uni-verse, one poem)

It is said that in the beginning there was an explosion (a pulse) and from that pulse came all that is: planets, stars, gasses, water, soil, air.

And one day it will all contract to pulse again, the onset of another cycle.

Our tiny, ocean-blue, forest and jungle-green, and golden sand planet shining like the tiniest polished marble in a black speckled sea,
is home, home to immense whales, home to minute insects, to apes with hair and us, naked apes.

Home is where the heart is, pulsing within us, pulsing on earth, pulsing in a uni-verse.
