Some Nights

Our life is like a love affair with Circe.
Having thought it had only been
some nights, Odysseus must wake up,
to see another decade gone.
Siddartha eventually breaks the spell
of Maya, after many illusory aeons.
He'd been watching her dance
a long time now, perhaps throughout
many lives. But it's all the same.
If it didn't end, it wouldn't be a dance.
No matter how seductive. No matter
how epic the choreography.
Every dream also has its time.
But the waking goes on forever.
