Go Figure

I mean, what were they thinking?
Hansel and Gretel went into the forest, 
	dropping breadcrumbs  
	so they could get back home.
Did it ever occur to them 	
	that forest beasties might eat them?
And did.

What about 
	pease porridge hot
	pease porridge cold
	pease porridge in the pot
	nine days old?
I don’t care if you eat 
yellow pea soup that’s been sitting
 in the pot for nine days
	hot or cold
you’re likely to die!

And Jack and Jill!
How often do you climb up 
	a hill to the well?
And who sent their kids	
	up a hill so steep
	that coming down
	with a full bucket of water,
one fell down and broke his head open
	and the other just flat fell down!
Somebody call C.P.S.

Who left that egg on the wall?
Why would someone abandon an egg 
	after going to the trouble of naming it?
Of course
	Humpty Dumpty fell off!
Eggs roll. 
And can you imagine the mess 
all the king’s horses and all the king’s men made
	trying to put Humpty together again?
What they made was 
	scrambled egg with shell fragments.

I’m just sayin’.
