Either/Or
 
In the habit of either/or
The impossible has no home. 
No chance for the one who
Appears like a peculiar partner
In the dance or the dance itself
Unplanned or unwanted.
 
Either we disintegrate organ
By delicate organ or fight and
Rage against Freedom’s fading and
The insults of lost beauty.
 
What if we step aside,
Welcome with foolish curiosity 
The one that arrives unwelcome,
But promised, tell Age,
“Welcome,”
Ask, “who are you?” What if
We invent new steps and dance on?
