Sprouts of grass where once barren,
Tips of daffodils poking through like hard nipples,
Unfurled Calla lillies shyly coming forth,
Budding romances,
New babies with soft skin and hungry lips,
Clean, running water in our river,
New baby chicks by Easter time,
Holiday leftovers long gone.

A new virus causing only sniffles?
Life has its sense of humor and stubborn, ridiculous ways,
 doesn’t it?
