She Brings Rhythm To My Blues



there she was

dazzling as a fireworks finale and

as light draws even a blind moth

I was drawn to her mystery

 

her intoxicating embodiment

of music love and freedom 

once believed beyond my reach

flooded my senses

 

the deluge found its way to river

a fog of foregone destiny lifted and

the haunt of the past began to vanish

as a nightmare left behind at dawn

 

we remain as different as melody from verse

yet merged like a rainbow’s striations

she is the poignant passion in a minor chord

she brings rhythm to my blues
